About NSTC 2024
NSTC 2024, the flagship initiative, is committed to promoting sustainable tourism while preserving Sri Lanka's diverse cultural and natural heritage. It represents a fusion of scholarly precision and visionary strategy, co-led by The Department of Trade, Commerce, and Tourism of the Central Province and the Department of Geography, University of Peradeniya.
NSTC is aimed at addressing the sustainable management of cultural and natural heritage within Sri Lanka's Central Province. It underscores the interdependence between tourism and heritage preservation, emphasizing rigorous academic investigation and strategic planning to navigate this relationship effectively. The conference intends to identify current challenges and explore potential solutions, involving stakeholders and researchers from relevant disciplines.
The objective of NSTC will be:
To initiate a dialogue among stakeholders and researchers across relevant disciplines, facilitating the exchange of findings and insights on sustainable tourism practices with policymakers.

Sustainable Tourism Policy and Planning
Assess the effectiveness of policies and planning frameworks in promoting sustainable tourism development. Topics may include measures to balance economic growth with environmental and social considerations, as well as strategies for stakeholder engagement and collaborations

Innovation and Technology in Tourism
Explores the role of innovative technologies and digital solutions in enhancing visitor experiences, minimizing environmental impacts, and improving destination management and marketing strategies for sustainable tourism.
AUTHOR GUIDELINES
Authors should send without author names, affiliations, and an acknowledgment (blinded abstracts).
Abstracts submitted with author information will be requested to re-submit according to the instructions given .
The abstract should be limited to one page and contain less than 350 words (without the title, names of authors, affiliations, keywords, and acknowledgment).
Abstracts should not include figures, tables, and references.
The spelling and grammar of your abstract should be carefully checked before submission.
The title of the abstract should be short, specific, and should reflect the study you carried out.
Research work presented or published elsewhere will not be considered.
Plagiarised abstracts will be rejected without further consideration.

The conference is fully funded by the Department of Trade, Commerce, and Tourism of the Central Province DTCT-CP. Therefore, all costs such as the conference registration, food and refreshments, etc. will be borne by DTCT-CP, so it is free for the participants.
